Ganguly meets Pawar PDF Print E-mail

The Sourav Ganguly-Greg Chappell row just refuses to go away. There are several rumours circulating on what actually transpired between Pawar and Sourav when the former captain met the BCCI chief in a late-night meeting on Tuesday. The BCCI cheif had apparently assured the deposed Indian captain that "injustice or unfair treatment" would not be meted out to him which was mainly meant for public conversation, the real conversation it seems was much different.

Continuing his campaign against Greg Chappell, Sourav Ganguly apparently accused the coach of being hostile to him. Ganguly is believed to have said, "I don't have any problem with Chappell; I really don't know why he is hostile to me." The former skipper is widely seen to be building bridges with the new BCCI regime. The conversation saw Ganguly rebutting Chappell's charge that he had an attitude problem, and, also, that he was a bad influence on the team. The coach had, as reportedly said, cited these two as the grounds for dropping Ganguly from the squad for the Ahmedabad Test. "I can play at any position, and under anybody, Dravid or anybody else," he said, reinforcing the perception about his eagerness to get back into the team for the Pakistan tour.
