Afridi out of ODI series PDF Print E-mail

Shahid Afridi seems to have aggravated a rib injury that he sustained before the Lahore match and has been ruled out of the ODI series. He is also advised to take two weeks' rest. Afridi opened the batting in Lahore and did not look 100%. He also bowled 3 overs going for 24 runs. He was also receiving some treatment before having a bowl and had also got taped up.

Pakistan allready have a lot of injury problems with Shoaib Akhtar ruled out earlier. Mohammad Sami will be taking Aktar's place and is most likely to start in the Multan match. The Pakistan board has not announced a replacement for Afridi as of now. Afridi's absence will obviously be felt in the team and more so for the crowd being un arguably the most flamboyant cricketer in the Pakistan line-up at the moment.
